Well more like half a week, really. Who cares? It was an unadulterated glam fest, and I for one, was ready to declare Blake Queen of Cannes this year – that is until Sonam Kapoor flew in to give her a run for her money. The Gossip Girl alum is with child – her second – but that didn’t stop her from bringing her A style game to France, and bringing all the photogs (and us mortals) joy by hamming it up for the cameras as she fulfilled her promotional duties for her soon to be released movies, Cafe Society and The Shallows (and I’m guessing L’Oreal).
In case you missed it, here we go!
Blake arrived wearing a Burberry, and looking every inch a star, despite being fairly fresh faced. The tabs also noted that her baby bump was nowhere in sight!
She made her first official appearance in a flowy red Juan Carlos Obando jumpsuit (j’adore that colour!), and then she took my breath away in her shimmery Atelier Versace at the Cafe Society premiere. Also, hi, baby!
The yellow velvet Valentino was pretty ugh in my opinion, even if she managed to make it look halfway decent. Too fussy for my taste, but I definitely was a fan of the black feathered Salvatore Ferragamo coat dress. (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, take notes :P)
For The Shallows photo call, she chose a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture mini and zebra heels, and later, looked pretty hot as she made the rounds in a Versace scuba dress with cut-outs. No maternity dresses for this lady!
Blake gave us a very Disney Princess moment in a tiered Vivienne Westwood – complete with silver heels and a head band. Baby bump did the disappearing act under all those tiers, and I am probably one of the few people on the planet that didn’t appreciate the sugar sweet confection. Ugh. It’s making my teeth hurt!
For her final turn on the red carpet, Blake chose a figure-hugging, slit to there Versace. She looked sensational, of course, even if the design felt a little familiar.
I almost missed the red and white stripey dress with the Chanel coat. My favourite part of the ensemble, her sparkly shoes. Blake gave us one final look from her French sojourn, in a floral, summery Cynthia Rowley dress and pretty heels. And a pair of $600 Chanel sunnies, which according to my FB feed is sold out.
So is she your Queen of Cannes this year?
